About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to grow student enrollment and help each student continue developing and enjoying music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, provides a positive customer experience, and builds long-term student relationships. The role also communicates regularly with students and families about progress and goals, recognizing parents’ knowledge of their children as learners.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships through a positive experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music student.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
