About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The Music Teacher contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assists with customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience. The role also involves frequent communication with students and their families about each student’s progress and goals, while building trusting partnerships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their children.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
