About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ musical growth and enjoyment. The role also includes contributing to an inclusive, respectful store culture and providing excellent customer experiences. You will work with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students in line with community needs, assist with customer service as needed, and communicate regularly with students and their families about progress and goals. Pay is listed as $16.90–$20.34 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $30.14 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their children.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents regularly.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
