About The Position
As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help grow student enrollment and support each student’s development and enjoyment of music while contributing to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role includes partnering with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students, providing an excellent customer experience, and communicating regularly with students and families about goals and progress. Pay is listed as $15.49–$18.99 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $23.09 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share student goals and progress regularly with students and/or parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
