Music Teacher - Piano & Voice
About The Position
Riff Music School is seeking a vibrant and inspiring combination piano/voice teacher to join their performance-based music school. The role involves teaching students using the Riff Lesson Curriculum, which employs a fun, song-based approach. Teachers will act as mentors, motivators, and cheerleaders for students' musical journeys. The school offers private studios, performance rooms, and a recording studio, with a mission to make lessons fun, song-driven, and inspiring for all ages. Riff Music School provides opportunities for students to build confidence, creativity, and community through music, including private lessons, group classes, band programs, recording sessions, and summer camps.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Piano and Voice (candidates with strong proficiencies in either Piano or Voice will be considered).
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Exceptional performers with strong communication skills are encouraged to apply and will receive comprehensive training in the Riff teaching approach.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles, ages, and musical interests.
- Strong communication skills and a student-first mindset.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A growth-oriented attitude with a desire to continue developing as a teacher and musician.
Nice To Haves
- Teacher experience in performance and studio recording is not required.
Responsibilities
- Teach private, semi-private, and/or group lessons.
- Coach rock bands and camps.
- Teach the toddler and infant program, Rifflets.
- Teach songwriting, audio engineering, music production, and band management.
- Inspire students by teaching through the music they love, while weaving in the fundamentals of technique, theory, and creativity.
- Support students in preparing for performances and recording opportunities.
- Create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel supported, motivated, and excited to learn.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to deliver a consistent, high-quality learning experience.
- Contribute ideas and energy to band programs, camps, and special events when applicable.
