About The Position

Onondaga Community College (OCC) is seeking a Music Resource Center Assistant, a Federal Work Study (FWS) position. OCC, part of the SUNY system and located in Syracuse, NY, offers two-year degree and certificate programs. The college is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment. This role will provide essential support to Andrea Scheibel in the Music Resource Center, contributing to various operational and creative tasks.

Requirements

Must have a valid FAFSA on file
Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
Must be matriculated into a program
Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
Current student in good standing at OCC
Being a second-year OCC music student
Basic proficiency with Mac computers
Ability to learn new programs quickly (OBS, GIMP, Audacity, etc.)
Works well with others
Trustworthy
Flexibility
Communicative (if you can't make your hours that day or are sick)
Time management skills

Responsibilities

Poster design for convocations and concerts
Social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
Recording and live-streaming performances
Ushering during convo/concerts
Helping guest artists and other performers with necessary stage changes and lighting during performances
Cataloging books and scores in the music library
Helping to man the desk in the MRC (Room P242)
Updating computers in the lab (Room P240)
Being tour guides for our Music Student for a Day recruiting event
