About The Position

The Office for Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion at Onondaga Community College offers a unique opportunity for students to assist in overseeing and implementing diverse cultural programs. This role allows students to be a part of Unity Day, a comprehensive college-wide student-led and student-driven event, where they will design, coordinate, and implement activities. Additionally, students will assist with other cultural programming by advertising events, monitoring attendance, and evaluating participant survey responses for over 60 activities in the 2026/2027 academic year. This position is designed for personal and professional growth.

Requirements

Must have a valid FAFSA on file
Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
Must be matriculated into a program
Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
Current student in good standing at OCC
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Potential applicants MUST be open to working with a diverse student population.

Nice To Haves

Some cultural competence training and experience preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. (English and another language will be considered).

Responsibilities

Advertising cultural college events.
Monitoring participants' attendance.
Administering event surveys.
Tabulating workshop attendees' responses.
Administering or assisting with implementing specialized programs (e.g., Unity Day, EMD, EWD, Social Justice Educational Series, cultural celebratory events, etc.)
