About The Position

Onondaga Community College (OCC), part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is seeking Student Ambassadors for a Federal Work Study position. Located in Syracuse, NY, OCC offers two-year degree and certificate programs designed for transfer or direct workforce entry. This role involves representing OCC at campus events, primarily conducting campus tours for prospective students and their families. Student Ambassadors will also assist the Admissions Office by participating in student panels, sharing their student perspective with visitors, and networking to promote the college's offerings. Additionally, ambassadors will support the Admissions Office with event preparation, general office tasks, and various projects under the guidance of the Admissions Staff. The position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate classes and schoolwork, with shifts typically lasting one to three hours, and occasional full-day commitments for Open Houses.

Requirements

• Must have a valid FAFSA on file.
• Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA.
• Must be matriculated into a program.
• Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours).
• Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program.
• Professional, approachable, and friendly demeanor.
• Availability to attend training sessions and scheduled events.
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed for special programs.
• Availability for Fall and Spring Open House.
