About The Position

The Resource Center Assistant is responsible for the safe and orderly operation of the clothing room, restrooms, shower rooms, and cleanliness of the building. The employee ensures all policies are followed in the running of these programs and clients are treated with dignity and respect, and that all clients receive the services they need.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
• Experience working with minority populations.
• Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Possess basic computer literacy skills.
• Ability to respond appropriately and with sensitivity to a diverse client population.
• Understanding of safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks with minimum supervision.
• Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.without assistance.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, continuously.
• Must pass a post offer physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Provides clients with access to restrooms and showers, strictly adhering to the agency rules for usage.
• Monitors restrooms and showers while facilities are in use.
• Provides clean clothing and hygiene products to shower clients.
• Oversees the distribution of clothing to clients, following agency protocols.
• Cleans and sanitizes the client restrooms and shower room daily and maintains in orderly manner throughout the day.
• Receives donations brought to the clothing room, provides receipts to donors and gives donor information to supervisor.
• Manages volunteers working in the clothing room.
• Sorts and organizes donations brought into the clothing room.
• Launders clothing and towels as needed.
• Enters client information into client database system.
• Complies statistical reports as directed by supervisor.
• Inventories cleaning supplies and hygiene products weekly and advises supervisor of items needing replenishment or purchase.
• Maintains laundry equipment in good repair, advising supervisor immediately of any equipment/ repair issues.
• Maintains all common areas, restrooms and offices clean as needed daily, weekly, or monthly to include dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash disposal, glass partitions and windows, disinfecting all surfaces, and other tasks to maintain building order and cleanliness.
• Works as a team player demonstrating cooperation with staff and volunteers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
