About The Position

UrbanCore is seeking a Multifamily Construction Superintendent to lead jobsite operations from preconstruction turnover through final closeout. This role is for an individual who excels in a structured, collaborative environment, prioritizing disciplined planning and clear expectations over reactive leadership. The Superintendent will be responsible for the project schedule, safety culture, installation quality, and setting high standards for all trade partners. This position involves leading an Assistant Superintendent and coordinating all trades to ensure predictable production by clearing the path for work rather than chasing it. The ideal candidate thrives on calm, disciplined leadership and meticulous preparation.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of commercial construction experience
  • Plan knowledge and navigation
  • Experience maintaining accurate project documentation
  • Knowledgeable on safety standards to maintain project safety
  • Experience with site management and leading projects
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and train team members and trade partners
  • Experience creating look-ahead schedules and closeouts

Responsibilities

  • Lead, Manage & Hold Accountable: Set clear expectations, confirm they're met, mentor Assistant Superintendent, foremen, and trades, address issues directly, and hold trade partners accountable for safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Project Startup & Planning: Own startup processes including turnover, checklists, logistics plans, and project visuals. Build the milestone schedule from the contract baseline. Run constructability reviews and integrate requirements into the plan.
  • Safety & Compliance: Own the safety standard, conduct daily site walks to address unsafe conditions, maintain audit-ready documentation, orientations, and job boards, and model safe behavior.
  • Production Planning & Operational Excellence: Build and maintain schedules using pull planning and takt planning strategies. Lead Trade Partner Tacticals, Preinstall Meetings, and 1st Walks. Ensure daily huddles, zone walks, and logs are completed consistently.
  • Quality Control & Inspections: Conduct thorough site walks to identify and address issues. Perform 1st Walks with the Assistant Superintendent to confirm readiness. Own inspections, permits, and TCO/CO. Define and enforce cleanliness and organization standards.
