About The Position

Under general supervision, the Multi-route Courier picks up and transports specimens, reports, and supplies on various routes. The role serves clients across multiple routes and may also perform dispatcher and hospital messenger duties. It operates a company vehicle and uses a mobile data terminal to record client stops, specimen information, and route updates.

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

• Previous courier experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, high-quality client service through effective communication.
• Pick up laboratory specimens and deliver lab results, supplies, and branch lab deposits; organize reports and supply deliveries to meet client expectations.
• Train new couriers on routes and maintain the knowledge and skills needed to handle multiple routes and duties, including courier, dispatcher, and hospital messenger work.
• Operate a company vehicle, inspect it daily, drive safely and defensively using the Smith System principles, and order required maintenance.
• Use a mobile data terminal to accurately record routine and will-call client stops, specimen counts, and specimen types.
• Update client route information and strive for zero missed pickups.
• Communicate with dispatch by radio and telephone about service-related issues.
