About The Position

This position is responsible for the maintenance of the facility and equipment. The role also involves leading a small group effectively, ensuring that all plant needs and manager/supervisor instructions are met during the shift. Effective communication with other maintenance technicians and plant management is essential.

Requirements

Standing and/or walking during the entire shift.
Wearing of proper PPE.
Considerable reaching, lifting, and bending.
Work in a wet, cold environment.
Understand and follow all procedures.
Responsibility to see that production areas are always maintained and running.

Responsibilities

Make repairs on all machinery, building, and electrical items as breakdowns and problems occur.
Assign maintenance employees to jobs and instruct them in the proper procedures to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
Reinstall all parts after sanitation has finished to start production in both areas of the facility, requiring readjustment after start-ups.
Start each piece of equipment and ensure proper performance, making repairs accordingly.
Check each scale to ensure weighing capability and make repairs as needed.
Start the refrigeration system and observe proper pressures and temperatures.
Remove all necessary parts at the beginning of the sanitation cycle so equipment can be cleaned.
Answer radio calls throughout the shift.
Perform preventative maintenance of equipment when the plant is down.
Follow all safety requirements, including using the proper PPE.
Ensure production areas are always maintained and running.
