MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 40 Hours Per Week (Midnights)
About The Position
The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for processing specimens, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing may include waived, moderate, and high complexity tests, as authorized by the Director. The role reports results according to established procedures and participates in departmental quality control, quality assurance, and quality management practices in accordance with department standards and applicable JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agency requirements. Specimen collection is performed as necessary. The position is based at Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The schedule is 40 hours per week, from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekend and/or holiday rotation.
Requirements
- For the MLT qualification: an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- For the MT qualification: a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training is preferred.
Responsibilities
