MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 40 Hours Per Week (AM/Midnights)
About The Position
The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing may include waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The employee reports results according to established procedures, participates in quality-control procedures, and complies with departmental quality-assurance and quality-management standards and applicable requirements from JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agencies. Specimen collection is performed as necessary. The position is located at Ascension St. Joseph in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed as 40 hours per week (FTE 1.0), with a shift of 4:00 AM–12:30 PM, rotating shifts, and weekend and/or holiday rotation.
Requirements
- For MLT: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- For MT: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training is preferred.
Responsibilities
