About The Position

Monterey Park Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist for its MRI Department. This is a per diem, 8-hour day-shift position reporting to the Director and Supervisor of Radiology. The MRI Technologist operates MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images under the direct supervision of the Radiologist, supports and positions patients during procedures, and evaluates images for diagnostic quality while following safety measures and government regulations.

Requirements

• CRT, ARRT-MRI, or ARMRIT/MRI certification required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide comfort, positioning, and immobilization on the exam table.
• Set scan parameters, monitor the video display of the area being scanned, and adjust density or contrast to improve image quality.
• Review and evaluate computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Use safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
