MRI Technologist (PD, Days) Monterey Park Hospital
About The Position
Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-bed acute care facility in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking an MRI Technologist for its MRI Department. This is a per diem, 8-hour day shift position reporting to the Director and Supervisor of Radiology. The MRI Technologist operates MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images under the direct supervision of the Radiologist. The role includes explaining procedures to patients, providing comfort, positioning and immobilizing patients, setting scan parameters, monitoring and adjusting images, and evaluating computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. The technologist uses safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety.
Requirements
- CRT, ARRT-MRI, or ARMRIT/MRI certification required.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
- Explain procedures to patients and provide comfort.
- Position and immobilize patients on the examination table.
- Set scan parameters and monitor the video display of the area being scanned.
- Adjust image density or contrast to improve image quality.
- Review and evaluate computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Use safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
