About The Position

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated MRI Technician to provide physicians with clear images through MRI scanning. Travel to surrounding locations, including Arlington Heights, is required. The role also includes providing shockwave therapy and laser therapy, assisting with patient care, maintaining MRI equipment and rooms, and completing related administrative tasks.

Requirements

Podiatric Medical Assistant Certification, or a license and certification to work as an MRI Technician.
Experience with patient care.
Attention to detail, mathematical skills, and technical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Operate MRI equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ body segments.
Provide shockwave therapy and laser therapy.
Position patients correctly for MRI examinations and explain examination procedures.
Assist with patient care and provide detailed reports of patients’ medical needs.
Screen patients before examinations for eye surveying, stapedectomy, and cardiac pacemaker.
Record scan parameters using images obtained from the MRI machine.
Perform administrative and clerical tasks as required.
Follow established procedures and policies to complete assigned tasks.
Maintain filing procedures so reports and images can be accessed and located easily.
Keep MRI rooms clean, organized, and safe for examinations, and prepare rooms with the necessary equipment.
Support quality assurance and improvement programs within the department.
Prepare and administer chemical mixtures for patient examinations.
Follow safety guidelines and infection-control procedures.
Maintain an inventory of chemical supplies.
Help calibrate MRI machines.
Ensure backup copies of patient images are made by transferring images to a storage device.
Help patients remain comfortable during MRI examinations by providing headphones to reduce unpleasant noise.
