About The Position

The MRI Technician provides clear images to physicians through MRI scanning. The role involves following physicians’ instructions, explaining procedures to patients, selecting software options and imaging parameters, reviewing images, and maintaining records. The successful candidate has strong communication and interpersonal skills, sensitivity to patient needs, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An associate degree in MRI or radiology technology, MRI certification, or IV certification.
A license and certification to work as an MRI technician.
Current state license and ARRT registry.
Attention to detail, mathematical skills, and technical skills.

Experience with MRI equipment and patient care.

Responsibilities

Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure they follow all safety standards.
Position patients and, when necessary, sedate them to capture clear images of the correct body area.
Remove and replace IVs and catheters for the MRI process.
Maneuver and position MRI equipment to capture the correct images.
Monitor patients during scanning and maintain patient records.
Monitor MRI equipment functions.
Ensure images are clear so physicians can provide accurate diagnoses.
Recognize abnormalities and irregularities in images.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance tests.
Refer to the listed digital QC tests and QA policy for additional essential functions.
