About The Position

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, also known as a Sonographer, to use ultrasound equipment to visualize internal anatomy and functions. The technician calibrates and operates sonography equipment, conducts examinations, captures images or videos of potential abnormalities, and discreetly alerts medical personnel to concerning findings. The position may be per diem, part-time, or full-time.

Requirements

• Current state license.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS).
• Specialized training, such as continuing education or certificates.
• An average of 5 continuing education credits per year specific to breast ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe areas of concern.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Report abnormalities requiring immediate attention to appropriate medical staff.
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failures.
• Conduct scan tests.
• Manage multiple patients and priorities and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Work with minimal supervision and cooperate with team members.
• Perform quality assurance on equipment.
