About The Position

Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) is a division of Canada’s largest privately held hospitality company, Northland Properties Corporation (NPC), and since its inception in 2007, we have gained a reputation for big mountain riding, legendary powder and an authentic Canadian resort town. The Mountain Sports School Assistant Manager is responsible for successful day-to-day operations of the Mountain Sports School and assists the Mountain Sports School Manager in all administrative and leadership aspects of the department.

Requirements

• Work eligibility in Canada – can provide work permit and SIN documentation
• Minimum Level 2 instructor certification
• Minimum 2 seasons experience as a ski or snowboard instructor
• 5 years' experience with Microsoft Office, POS, CRM, and database systems
• Office administration experience
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Passion for the mountains, guest service and snow sports
• Must be bondable, and able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check, issued within the last three months, upon hire
• Fluency in English

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 2 seasons supervisory or leadership experience in a Snow School or similar environment preferred
• Ski industry and particularly instructing or coaching experience is a major plus
• second languages are an asset

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mountain Sports School department
• Manage staff availability, assignment, weekly master schedules
• Coordinate lesson bookings and instructor assignments
• Coordinate integration with sales, wholesale, and online bookings
• Supervise, coach and train supervising staff
• Organize daily instructor assignments and meetings
• Manage departmental human resources functions, including payroll administration and employee relations
• Deliver and ensure an exceptional guest experience throughout the Mountain Sports School
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve guest service issues in a professional and timely manner
• Coordinate AST courses and instructor assignments
• Assist the Mountain Sports School Manager, other departments, and direct reports as necessary
• Other duties as required
