About The Position

The CRA Mortgage Originator (CRA-MO) will help guide customers through the mortgage process. The CRA-MO will learn how to evaluate loan options, gather documentation, and build strong relationships with clients, referral partners, and the community. This role requires a passion for serving the community, enabling the dream of homeownership through deep relationships with community organizations, homeownership advocacy groups, and other non-profits. This sales role expects production results, with a particular focus on serving customers in low-and-moderate income and minority communities. Exceptional interpersonal skills and dedication to customer service are vital throughout the originations process. The CRA-MO will serve as the customer's primary point of contact and must represent the Bank in a professional and enthusiastic manner by supporting the mission statement and adhering to core values in all job responsibilities and interactions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of residential real estate experience.
  • Excellent level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints.
  • Excellent level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, including the ability to function in a windows environment.
  • Ability to be results oriented with sound judgment.
  • Ability to supervise and manage the workflow of subordinate(s) through superior leadership skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while recognizing and supporting the company’s preferences and priorities.
  • Ability to travel and train when necessary.
  • Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews applicants and requests specific information for mortgage loan application.
  • Serves as primary contact with all parties on individual loans originated from application to closing.
  • Counseling and pre-qualifying potential home buyers.
  • Completing applications.
  • Obtaining all necessary support documents along with appropriate fee and lock-in information in compliance with FNMA, FHLMC, VA, FHA, and mortgage lending regulations which includes RESPA, TRID, and HMDA.
  • Overseeing loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms.
  • Obtaining loan documentation prior to closing.
  • Assisting in collecting additional documents and communicating loan status to all parties.
  • Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan.
  • Submits loan package to operations department and assists loan processor in loan approval.
  • Coordinates activities with loan processor and customer/borrower to ensure that proper documentation and verification is obtained.
  • Develops and maintains internal relationships to create cross-sell opportunities by leveraging the mortgage transaction.
  • Calls on prospective customers and explains loan products and services.
  • Participate in networking events and referral activities.
  • Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
  • Provides a strong, compassionate, and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
