Mortgage Origination - Customer Service Representative
About The Position
Leidos is hiring full-time Mortgage Origination Customer Service Representatives to support the FHA Resource Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Leidos Customer Service team supports the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Single-Family Housing, in its mission to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes. In this role, you will use mortgage origination experience to assist the lending industry and the public with questions about Federal Housing Administration (FHA) guidelines and procedures, while developing your knowledge of FHA mortgage policies and processes. The position involves responding to calls and emails, using a knowledge database and search tools to find answers, following standard operating procedures, documenting contacts, and staying current on FHA processes. The role offers a Monday-through-Friday schedule with no weekend work, training, and voluntary overtime that may be available based on business needs. Applicants must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance, including a credit check and background investigation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- At least 2 years of mortgage origination experience, such as loan originator, loan processor, junior underwriter, or loan officer.
- At least 1 year of contact center or telephone customer service experience.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance, including a credit check and background investigation.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications and use search tools.
- Excellent time management skills and dependability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
- Keyboarding proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.

Responsibilities
- Answer calls and emails from the lending industry and the public about FHA guidelines and procedures.
- Use mortgage industry knowledge and a knowledge database to find answers and respond to client requests.
- Follow standard operating procedures for various topics, systems, and contact channels.
- Document all contacts in a database.
- Keep up to date on FHA mortgage processes and procedures.
