Mortgage Origination - Customer Service Representative
About The Position
Leidos is hiring full-time Mortgage Origination Customer Service Representatives for the FHA Resource Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The team supports the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Single-Family Housing, in its mission to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes. In this role, you will draw on mortgage origination experience—such as loan processing, loan origination, underwriting, or loan officer work—to respond to questions from the lending industry and the public about Federal Housing Administration (FHA) guidelines and procedures. You will research answers using a knowledge database, follow standard operating procedures, document contacts, and stay current on FHA mortgage processes. The position includes immediate and ongoing training. Public Trust eligibility is company-sponsored upon hire and requires a credit check and background investigation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- At least 2 years of mortgage origination experience, such as loan originator, loan processor, junior underwriter, or loan officer experience.
- At least 1 year of contact center or telephone customer service experience.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance, including a credit check and background investigation.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications and use search tools.
- Strong time management skills and dependability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
- Keyboarding proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.

Responsibilities
- Answer calls and emails from the lending industry and the public about FHA guidelines and procedures.
- Use mortgage industry knowledge and a knowledge database to find answers to client requests.
- Follow standard operating procedures for different topics, systems, and contact channels.
- Document all contacts in a database.
- Keep up to date on FHA mortgage processes and procedures.
