About The Position

We are seeking a Mortgage Sales leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who leads others with clarity and strives for excellent results. This role is for a leader who thrives on accountability, loves developing people, and gains energy from producing measurable results. The Mortgage Department Sales Manager will build winning teams, drive sustainable growth, and own outcomes from start to finish. This is an Exempt Full-Time position, paid bi-weekly, with a $80,000 USD annual base salary plus incentives. The incentive structure includes a quarterly earning of 0.06% of the loan amount funded, and an added annual incentive of 0.06% of the total dollar amount of mortgage loans funded for the year. Certain conditions apply, and incentives vary based on production results and are not capped.

Requirements

Proven leadership experience in mortgage lending, credit union’s loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines
Strong understanding of mortgage law, regulations, and the secondary market; Mortgage loan processing functions including FHA, VA, and conventional lending
A results-driven mindset with the confidence to hold yourself and others accountable
A leader who balances high performance with people-first leadership
Someone who builds strong teams, strong relationships, and measurable success
Two to Five years of similar or related experience required, including a minimum of two years of mortgage lending experience.
Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site. Must renew registration each year and update when changes to name, address, etc. occur.
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use mortgage lending and financial software systems.
Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong problem solver.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgement, and a positive attitude.
Maintains a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience preferred.
A college degree preferred but not required.
Bilingual (fluent proficiency Spanish and English) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a high-performing mortgage team with clear expectations and measurable goals
Drive sustainable mortgage growth through strong established and new partnerships and business development in the community
Oversee mortgage operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and an exceptional member experience; good foundation of determining credit worthiness
Actively solicit outside business and cultivate referral relationships
Serve as a visible ambassador in the community to promote our mortgage services
Own performance outcomes - production, pipeline health, profitability, and team development
Grow Mortgage Loan Portfolio by $3,819,058 before December 31, 2026.
Earn $43,638 in Secondary Market Income
Earn $166,345 in in house origination and processing income in 2026.
Build a mortgage team that achieves measurables
Hire only A players.
Terminate any mortgage team employee hired by you that is not meeting their KPIs by their one-year anniversary.
Implement a coaching plan for all mortgage team employees to ensure all are meeting their KPIs by your 18-month anniversary.
