About The Position

The Morning Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized HomeGoods store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and completing cleaning and recovery tasks throughout the store. The associate follows operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained to support multiple store areas and business needs. The position also supports a positive customer experience and store culture through honest, respectful, and effective communication with customers, management, and fellow associates.

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

Responsibilities

• Operate scrubbers and buffers and perform floor care, including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Dust and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain floor care cleanliness standards and maintain and operate the scrubber and buffer.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train and work in other store areas such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Follow the company merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company policies, including shrink reduction.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
