About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized HomeGoods store environment, with a focus on floor care. Duties include operating floor scrubbers and buffers; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms. The role also supports store operations by cross-training in multiple areas, responding to Front End coverage needs, and participating in recovery throughout the day. The associate follows company policies and standards for customer experience, health and safety, merchandising, signage, labor practices, and loss prevention. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with customers, peers, supervisors, and management.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and respond appropriately.
Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and organized store, including floor care and cleanliness standards throughout the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Operate the floor scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Follow operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards and policies, including shrink-reduction controls.
Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Refill essential items in the associate lounge, restrooms, and Front End as part of health and safety responsibilities.
Cross-train in other store areas, including the backroom, Front End, and sales floor, and support Front End coverage needs.
Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including associate meal and break period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
