About The Position

The Morning Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and performing routine cleaning and spot-cleaning tasks. The associate also supports store operations by following merchandise, loss-prevention, health and safety, and customer-experience standards, and by cross-training in other store areas as business needs require.

The associate maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms. The position requires effective communication with management and colleagues, flexibility to respond to changing priorities, and physical stamina for cleaning and lifting tasks. The role is located at TJ Maxx Store 1424 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and has a starting pay range of $12.75 to $13.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care.
• Operate the scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
• Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
• Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
• Role-model customer-experience practices with internal and external customers and contribute to a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
