About The Position

The Early Morning Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized TJ Maxx store, with a focus on floor care. The associate operates floor-care equipment and performs cleaning tasks throughout the store while adhering to operational, merchandise, loss-prevention, health, and safety standards. The role is cross-trained across store areas and supports customer experience, store recovery, and Front End coverage needs. The position is located at TJ Maxx Store 0312 in Champaign, Illinois, and has a starting pay range of $15.00 to $15.50 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Refill essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End in accordance with health and safety policies.
Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Uphold the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
