Monitor Tech PRN
About The Position
The Monitor Tech performs the monitoring functions of the department and fulfills departmental responsibilities in support of the hospital’s mission and vision. The role helps foster a supportive environment that encourages teamwork and effective communication. The Monitor Tech provides continuous observation of telemetry monitors, identifies and reports arrhythmias, documents monitor tracings, and communicates findings regularly to nursing staff and physicians. The role also maintains telemetry equipment, helps maintain department supplies, promotes customer service, and participates in process improvement.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support is required.
- Completion of a telemetry monitoring or arrhythmia course.
- Successfully pass an arrhythmia interpretation examination annually.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Promote customer service initiatives.
- Continuously observe telemetry monitors.
- Recognize and report arrhythmias.
- Document monitor tracings.
- Communicate findings regularly to nursing staff and physicians.
- Maintain telemetry monitoring equipment.
- Assist with maintaining department supplies.
- Participate in process improvement.
