About The Position

Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) is a Boston-based nonprofit that partners with families to help them move out of poverty and provides other organizations with tools to do the same. The Mobility Mentor - Stabilization works with participants who have recently left EMPath emergency shelter programs, supporting their progress toward self-sufficiency and stable housing. The role is part of EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring model, using goal setting to help participants maintain permanent housing, employment, and savings within a two-year horizon. The position supports families with tenancy management and housing stability, partnering with the housing team and landlords. It includes advocacy, consumer education, and crisis management to prevent housing disruption, and helping families build neighborhood connections through schools, employment services, and medical providers. The position is hybrid after an initial 90-day in-person period, with three days in the office across EMPath’s Brighton and Mattapan offices and one day remote. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
