About The Position

As our Mobility Aide, you will assist with patient mobility, including transfers to chairs, ambulation to the bathroom, and ambulation in the hallway, in accordance with our mission and core values. Every day you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of therapists and Registered Nurses, specifically focusing on supporting patients' safe and effective movement. This involves assisting patients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as directed by the clinical team, contributing directly to their rehabilitation goals. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate compassion, attentiveness to patient needs, and precise adherence to instructions from therapists and RNs. Your ability to safely and effectively facilitate patient mobility, communicate clearly with the clinical team, and contribute to a supportive and therapeutic environment will be essential.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies and Six months of patient care experience as CNA or other certified medical professional with experience in patient care, upon hire or High School GED General Studies and Six months of patient care experience as CNA or other certified medical professional with experience in patient care, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for and performs transfers, mobility and ambulation in their room or Hallway
  • Prepares room, equipment, supplies and patient for transfer and ambulation.
  • Follows special instructions as provided by therapist or nursing.
  • Assist with or perform transfer, mobility activity and ambulation as directed by therapist or nursing.
  • Monitors patient response to activity and reports to nursing or therapist.
  • Determines need for and properly implements safety measures for the patient during and following activity.
  • Responds to urgent situations appropriately and quickly.
  • Adjusts level of assistance to the patient’s ability/level of independence, encourages independence.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics necessary to insure personal safety and patient safety during patient/material handling.
  • Demonstrates understanding of proper body alignment, special precautions and weight bearing status.
