About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring an in-home Associate Veterinarian serving Hartford, New Haven, Bristol, Southington, West Hartford, Wallingford, Connecticut, and surrounding areas. The role provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. Veterinarians practice independently while staying connected to a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals, with onboarding, mentorship, experienced leaders, and a 24/7/365 Support Center. Schedules are available for three, four, or five days per week. The posting describes an average of three to four unrushed appointments per day. Compensation depends on schedule: four-day positions start at $107,500, and five-day positions offer a $130,000 base salary, with additional bonus opportunities. Three-day full-time and part-time opportunities are also available with prorated compensation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Pass a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before the associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
- Conduct an average of three to four appointments per day, allowing time for families and reducing paperwork.
