About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Weston, Davie, Plantation, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, and surrounding Florida areas. The veterinarian helps families through end-of-life care in the comfort of their homes, taking time to listen, explain options, answer difficult questions, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role involves independent mobile practice, supported by thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Appointment volume is limited to allow time for each family. Schedule options include five-day full-time, four-day full-time, and two- or three-day schedules, including self-managed part-time options. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian, with four weekend days per month.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
- Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
