About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Mobile Repair Specialist to maintain its fleet of trucks and trailers. The role involves using U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles, with flexibility to self-manage, plan, and execute daily work. The position is open to people new to the industry as well as those with vehicle-repair experience. U-Haul provides support, tools, and continued equipment education, with opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Requirements

• Be a self-starter.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Positive attitude.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of automotive and trailer mechanics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment using appropriate tools and in accordance with U-Haul standards.
• Perform work in a timely manner.
• Determine the causes of operating errors and decide how to address them.
• Complete required ongoing U-Haul equipment education.
• Establish an effective route in the assigned area to repair down or inoperable equipment and ensure all equipment is repaired or scheduled for repair.
• Maintain inventory of repair parts and ensure all parts used are charged out.
• Provide assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the supervisor’s directives and guidance.
