About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a Mobile Repair Specialist to maintain and repair its fleet of trucks and trailers in the assigned area. The specialist uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology and appropriate tools to assess and care for field vehicles, traveling an effective route to repair equipment that is down or inoperable or schedule it for repair. The role offers independence in planning and completing day-to-day work, along with company support, training, and opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

• Be a self-starter.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Positive attitude.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of automotive and trailer mechanics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment using appropriate tools and in accordance with U-Haul standards.
• Perform work in a timely manner.
• Determine the causes of operating errors and decide what corrective action to take.
• Complete required ongoing U-Haul equipment education.
• Establish an effective route in the assigned area to repair down or inoperable equipment and ensure all equipment is repaired or scheduled for repair.
• Maintain an inventory of repair parts and ensure parts used are charged out.
• Assist in additional areas as needed, following the supervisor’s directives and guidance.
