About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform on-site maintenance and repairs for Class 6–8 trucks and trailers. The company describes itself as a locally run, family-oriented fleet maintenance network serving its community. Mobile technicians perform repairs at customer locations and use company technology to process work orders. First- and second-shift opportunities are available.

The role involves inspecting and repairing vehicle systems and components, coordinating maintenance procedures, documenting work, and managing parts and inventory. Work is performed outdoors and may involve extreme weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The candidate must be able to complete the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Pay is $29–$36 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• At least 2 years of truck or trailer maintenance and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Valid driver's license.
• Communication skills.
• Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
• Ability to use a computer or tablet to process electronic work orders, add labor hours, and update work-order statuses.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.
• Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Ability to complete the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience is preferred.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Certifications.
• Welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust and after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders using a company-issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
