About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform on-site maintenance and repairs for Class 6–8 trucks and trailers. The role uses company-provided technology to process repair orders and documentation, and includes working outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions. First- and second-shift schedules are available. The company describes itself as locally run and family-oriented, with mobile technicians providing maintenance and repairs at customer locations.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
At least 2 years of truck/trailer maintenance and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Valid driver’s license.
Communication skills.
Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
Ability to use a computer or tablet to process work orders, enter labor hours, and update work-order statuses.
Basic computer skills.
Must possess proper tools.
Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, when needed.
Ability to meet the job’s physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience is preferred.
High school education or equivalent.
Certifications.
Welding experience.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust and after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
Open and close repair orders using a company-issued device.
Obtain parts from local vendors and manage service-truck inventory.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
