About The Position
Prestige Fleet Services is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform on-site maintenance and repairs on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers. The role includes inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and component repair or replacement. Technicians use company-issued devices to manage repair orders, obtain parts from local vendors, maintain service-truck inventory, and complete required documentation. The position may require extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed, and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
- At least 2 years of experience in truck or trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Communication skills.
- Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
- Ability to use a computer or tablet for electronic work-order processing, including adding labor hours and updating work-order statuses.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must possess proper tools.
- Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
- Ability to complete the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Certifications.
- Welding experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust and after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
- Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
- Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
- Open and close repair orders using a company-issued device.
- Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
