About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform on-site maintenance and repairs for Class 6–8 trucks and trailers. The role uses a company-issued device to process repair orders and involves obtaining parts from local vendors and managing inventory on the service truck. Work takes place outdoors and may involve extreme weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The employer describes itself as a locally run, family-oriented fleet maintenance network.

Requirements

At least 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience is preferred.
Communication skills.
Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
Valid driver’s license.
Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
Ability to use a computer or tablet to process work orders, enter labor hours, and update work-order statuses.
2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
2 years of truck or trailer maintenance and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Basic computer skills.
Must possess proper tools.

Nice To Haves

High school education or equivalent.
Certifications.
Welding experience.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including work on brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device.
Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
