About The Position

As a Mobile App Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of a cross-platform mobile application using React Native. The role calls for strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles, and the ability to produce clean, high-performance code. You will work with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and help ensure the application is scalable and reliable. You will keep current with mobile technologies and mentor junior developers, supporting a culture of technical excellence and innovation. The role also provides technical oversight and mentorship to a vendor team, including guidance, code reviews, and help aligning work with project best practices. It facilitates communication between the internal team and the vendor, identifies and helps resolve dependencies, integration issues, and other roadblocks, and supports continued progress.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
8+ years of software development experience focused on mobile applications.
5+ years of professional React Native development experience.
Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
Experience with Git for version control and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
Expert-level understanding of e-commerce principles.
Advanced collaboration skills, including the ability to work with product managers, designers, and other non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to integrate e-commerce platforms with external systems and understand API protocols.
Proficiency in agile methodologies.
Strong, systematic problem-solving skills, including diagnosing and resolving complex issues under pressure.
Ability to take ownership of work from initial design through deployment and maintenance, delivering high-quality results on project timelines.
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and provide clear, constructive guidance to junior developers.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver new features and enhancements for the React Native application using high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
Conduct code reviews, resolve bugs, and optimize the application to meet performance, stability, and security standards.
Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and production bugs in a timely and effective manner.
Mentor junior developers, share best practices, and help foster a strong development culture.
Create and maintain technical documentation for features, architectures, and development processes.
Provide technical guidance and code reviews to help ensure the vendor team's work meets technical standards and project best practices.
Facilitate communication between internal teams and the vendor, and help resolve technical dependencies, integration issues, and roadblocks.
