About The Position

Rytech of Lake County is seeking a skilled and driven Mitigation Lead Technician to join its team in Crown Point, Indiana. The role leads hands-on water, fire, and mold damage restoration projects, helping homeowners and businesses recover. The technician operates and monitors drying equipment, assesses and documents damage, communicates with customers and project stakeholders, ensures work meets IICRC standards and company guidelines, and trains junior technicians. The position requires physical work in demanding conditions and availability for on-call shifts and emergency response as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in water damage mitigation, restoration, or a related field.
Ability to operate restoration equipment and perform physical labor in demanding conditions.
Strong leadership skills and experience guiding a crew or team.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Availability for on-call shifts and emergency response as needed.

Nice To Haves

IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician) certification, or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform water, fire, and mold mitigation projects from start to finish.
Operate and monitor drying equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and moisture meters.
Conduct moisture mapping and damage assessments, and document job-site conditions.
Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and project managers throughout the mitigation process.
Ensure all work meets IICRC standards and company quality guidelines.
Train and mentor junior technicians on proper mitigation techniques and safety protocols.
Complete accurate job documentation, moisture logs, and daily progress reports.
