About The Position

The Part-Time Mission Delivery Support Specialist position helps bring the Girl Scout mission to life by connecting girls and families to opportunities and experiences. This role supports the entire membership team through recruitment and community events, council staffed activities and volunteer support. This is a remote-based position that requires regular attendance at in-person meetings and community engagement events and occasional attendance at the Overland Park office. Part-time hours consist of approximately 20 hours per week and occasionally up to 30 hours. Employee must reside within the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. To be successful in this position, working in the community, including evenings and weekends, is required.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, ideally with two to four years of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Comfortable using or learning Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, Customer Relationship Management systems, and social media networking.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and proof of current insurance coverage.
  • Consistent, reliable transportation to meet job duties is required.
  • Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the recruitment team by assisting with event execution, follow-up communication, troop formation support, and program delivery for new members.
  • Serves as the primary on-site host for in-school and evening registration events designed to introduce Girl Scouts to prospective girls, families, and volunteers; partners with staff and volunteers to support local events and activities.
  • Supports council activities in the retail shop, at camp, cookie cupboards and other identified council events and activities.
  • Comfortable using all forms of communication (i.e., in-person, virtual, email, text, phone calls, social media and presentations) to assist with recruiting and volunteer support. Collaborates with internal and external audiences, as needed.
  • Comfortable learning and using the council’s volunteer management database system(s) to manage and support prospective and current members through recruitment and volunteer lifecycles; maintains accurate records.
  • Maintains supplies and assists with the distribution and placement of marketing materials, including flyers and yard signs.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for Girl Scouts by representing the organization with consistent messaging, professionalism, and enthusiasm in the community.
