About The Position

The Mining Technology Key Account Manager will maintain and enhance the business partnership between Toromont Cat and our major mining customers by providing complete customer service solutions to local mining operations, to help reduce total cost. This role can be done from multiple locations. Pay type: Full time, Permanent. Compensation: Commissioned. The listed target compensation includes commissions and other variable pay components and reflects expected annual earnings. It represents just one part of our total rewards package, and additional performance‑based bonuses or other elements may also apply.

Requirements

  • Post‑Secondary education in Engineering, Technology, Mining, or Business (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years’ experience in mining, heavy equipment, industrial technology, OT/IT, or digital solutions
  • Strong understanding of: CAT MineStar and/or mining technology ecosystems, Surface and/or underground mining operations, Equipment, fleet management, and operational workflows
  • Proven experience selling or enabling the sale of complex technical solutions
  • Strong commercial, financial, and negotiation acumen
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
  • Highly collaborative, influential, and customer‑centric
  • Comfortable engaging from site level through executive leadership
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications and other customer programs
  • Willing and able to travel extensively throughout Canada and a valid Driver’s Licence and clean Driver's Abstract

Responsibilities

  • Participate in safe and healthy work behaviors and practices at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs, objectives, and initiatives
  • Support Mining Key Account Managers, PSSRs, and branch teams to identify, qualify, and commercially sell mining technology solutions, including CAT MineStar
  • Act as the primary technology commercial resource, enabling others rather than replacing existing account ownership
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through regular on‑site visits (surface and underground) with a focus on technology, digital, and operational improvement opportunities
  • Support customer discussions related to technology strategy, operational outcomes, and long‑term site roadmaps
  • Assist Mining KAMs and branch teams in developing technology‑related sales objectives, forecasts, and opportunity pipelines
  • Provide commercial and strategic support for technology proposals, pricing, value cases, contracts, and renewals
  • Collaborate with Service, Product Support, Fleet Analysts, and Maintenance Managers to ensure technology solutions align with service strategies, CSAs, and lifecycle programs
  • Participate in mine site partnership meetings to support technology discussions, value realization, and expansion opportunities
  • Work with Caterpillar technology supplier representatives to promote aligned and integrated technology offerings
  • Support technology adoption by ensuring clear value expectations, success criteria, and post‑implementation follow‑up
  • Assist Fleet Analysts and Continuous Improvement teams with technology‑enabled cost reduction and performance initiatives
  • Ensure Caterpillar and Toromont CAT partnership agreements related to technology are executed in good faith by all parties
