About The Position

The Mine Maintenance Technician maintains underground mining equipment and related systems to support safe and efficient operations. The role troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, conveyor belts, ore loadout equipment, and mobile and stationary diesel equipment. The schedule is described as either a 9/80 or rotating 12-hour shift, with participation in a rotating call-out schedule supporting a 24/7 operation.

Requirements

Industrial maintenance experience.
Ability to read and understand electrical, structural, and hydraulic drawings.
Ability to provide basic American-made mechanic hand tools in metric and SAE sizes up to 30 mm and 1 1/4 inches; Intrepid provides larger specialty tools.
Strong mechanical knowledge and safe work practices.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.

Underground mining experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on underground mining equipment, conveyor belts, ore loadout equipment, and mobile and stationary diesel equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, inspections, defect identification, and verifying components are properly secured.
Install, replace, and repair motors, chains, gearboxes, transmissions, differentials, and suspension components.
Perform oxy-acetylene cutting, stick or MIG welding, and rigging procedures for safe lifting.
Complete pre-shift inspections to confirm equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Participate in a rotating call-out schedule supporting a 24/7 operation.
