Headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, Turner Industries has over 20,000 employees across the United States. The company is seeking an experienced Millwright for a position in Kingsport, TN. This role involves installing and/or maintaining machinery and equipment according to plans, blueprints, and instructions in industrial settings. It is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman, with assigned duties checked frequently.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Dismantles machines
Moves machinery and equipment
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers
Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures
May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment
May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates
Remove plant equipment, disassemble, repair and reinstall
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
