About The Position

Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an Electrician to join our team in Kingsport, TN. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. This is a Non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman. Assigned duties are according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Must have mechanical knowledge
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them
Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
Must be NCCER certified
Written pre-employment qualification test
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
Pulls wiring through conduit.
Splices wires.
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
May repair faulty equipment or systems.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
