About The Position

West Fraser is recruiting for a Millwright Position at Quesnel Plywood. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various industrial equipment in a safe manner, adhering to established SOPs, lockouts, and protocols. The position requires operating hoisting and lifting devices, working in man-lifts with fall protection, and repairing hydraulic systems. A positive team environment is essential.

Requirements

Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace.
A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification or a Millwrighting Apprentice preparing to enroll in their 4th year.
Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work closely with other trades and employees.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible schedule for workdays, nights, and weekend shifts.

Nice To Haves

Sawmill experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Work in a safe manner using established SOPs, following all lockouts and protocols, and completing PTHAs.
Preventative maintenance and repair of conveyors, various belt and chain transfer and drive systems, sawing, debarking, sorting, stacking, and compressors.
Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery.
Work in man-lifts with the use of fall protection equipment.
Repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves and cylinders.
Work positively in a team environment.
