About The Position

IPEX is seeking a Licensed Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) to join their manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario. This role involves troubleshooting complex equipment, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and contributing to the reliability of plant operations. The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities.

Requirements

Current Ontario Provincial or Interprovincial Trade Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright).
Completion of an Ontario or Interprovincial Apprenticeship (Trades Qualification) Program.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding skills.
Ability to work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
Comfortable working at heights.

Nice To Haves

Dual-ticketed Millwright/Electrician.
PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
Plan and complete work assignments from blueprints, sketches, technical drawings, and verbal instructions.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
Operate material handling equipment to position machinery and components during installation, setup, and repairs.
Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair plant equipment, machinery, systems, and building infrastructure.
Perform preventative maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Assemble machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Utilize lathes, grinders, and other machine tools to support maintenance and repair activities.
Support plant shutdowns, emergency repairs, and equipment recovery efforts to minimize downtime.
Provide guidance, instruction, and training to apprentices and helpers when required.
Ensure compliance with applicable national, provincial, and local codes and standards.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and follow all company safety procedures.
