About The Position

A Millwork Moulder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating wood moulding machines to produce various millwork products. This role is vital in shaping wood stock into various profiles for millwork applications.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Moulder Operator or in a similar role in the woodworking industry.
  • Familiarity with various wood species and their characteristics.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating wood moulding machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks.
  • Basic mechanical skills for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training in woodworking or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the moulder by setting it up according to specifications. Adjust feed rates, cutter heads, and other parameters to achieve the desired profile for the wood stock.
  • Feed wood stock into the moulder and monitor the production process. Ensure the machine operates smoothly, making necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished workpieces for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards. Check for smoothness, depth-of-cut, and conformity to specifications.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Ensure the machinery is in optimal working condition to avoid production downtime.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area. Document processes and maintain records as required.
