Mid-Market Sales Manager, Northeast

Miter•New York, NY
•$250,000 - $300,000

About The Position

Miter is rebuilding the HR, finance, and operations systems used by construction and field services contractors, using AI and embedded payments. The Mid-Market Sales Manager will lead and grow Miter’s Northeast Mid-Market Sales team, reporting to the Head of Sales. This hands-on leadership role involves building, coaching, and managing Account Executives responsible for defined geographic territories, launching new markets, acquiring new business, and fostering a strong sales culture in the field. The role requires significant overlap with East Coast working hours and approximately 25% travel, primarily within the team’s East Coast territories. Travel focuses on field coaching, customer meetings, industry and company events, and site visits. Miter’s work approach depends on the role’s location: employees within a reasonable commute of its New York City or San Francisco offices are asked to work in the office three days per week; roles in other cities without an office have no hybrid-work requirement.

Requirements

  • Direct experience in field sales or managing field sales teams, including building pipeline from scratch, maintaining a presence in a territory, and developing local market expertise.
  • Passion for coaching and building high-performing, motivated sales teams that show up and compete in the field.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; adaptability and enthusiasm for fast-paced, high-growth environments where the playbook is still being developed.
  • Strong business judgment and data fluency to inform decisions and drive predictable results.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the team, customers, and community.
